I live for a good movie night—especially the gloriously gory, over-the-top splatter flicks that don’t take themselves too seriously. And when it comes to cult classics, Friday the 13th is an absolute slasher gem! That flick inspired this whole look, brought to life with the hauntingly iconic “Friday the 13th” backdrop set from SATO. The second I found it, I hit play, got chills, and boom—instant inspiration. I’m even humming “The Man Behind The Mask” by Alice Cooper because, let’s be honest, Jason and Michael Myers are the kings of creepy calm. No dialogue, no rush—just a slow, steady walk toward doom. Now that’s scary.
But hey, just because the past gave us nightmares doesn’t mean we can’t dress to survive them in style! Who says fashion and fear can’t mix? I’m calling it now: Terrorcore is the next big thing. Or maybe ScareStyle? Creepy couture? Honestly, I could brainstorm ghoulish fashion genres all day—LOL!
Anyway, let’s slash through the suspense and dive into this killer survivor look, perfect for outrunning masked maniacs or just looking fearlessly fabulous in the face of fright. I always find myself yelling at the screen—“Don’t go in the barn! Don’t go in the basement!” And why, oh why, are they always half-dressed with zero weapons in hand? In honor of those fierce (but fatefully misguided) final girls, I give you Image 2—a tribute to survival instincts that should’ve kicked in sooner!
Check out that blade. It may be small, but it screams business. It’s worn, weathered, and clearly has a backstory… though I’m not sure I want to know what—or who—it’s seen. 😬 Let’s just say, it’s got “I’ve been through some things” energy.
So here’s to arming ourselves like horror heroines should—not with fear, but with fierce fashion and just enough edge to scare the monsters right back. 🔪💀

Ohh, Victorian England—what a mood! Instantly I’m picturing dramatic silhouettes, high collars, and that fabulous era where fashion and tech started having a serious love affair. Enter the 1850s: the sewing machine goes mainstream, synthetic dyes hit the scene, and suddenly fashion is getting a full-blown makeover. See? I don’t just blog about clothes—I dabble in history too! 😏
Big thanks to SATO for serving up this stunning “Gothic Victorian” backdrop—it gave me the perfect excuse to channel my inner 19th-century drama queen. Seriously, look at this pack (available now at UNIK)—eight beautifully moody backdrops ready to take your next scene from zero to cinematic masterpiece.
But let’s be real—this backdrop wasn’t about to accept just any rainy-day look. It needed drama. It needed fashion. So, I dove in and did my best (shoutout to my semi-decent fashion sense, lol). First up, I tried on the “April” skin from UTOPIA and—hello?!—I was instantly obsessed. The bone structure? Immaculate. Then I crowned the look with the DOUX “Kazuha” hair, slipped on the KIBITZ “Sandrian” rings, and grabbed my WEB DEW “Lace Parasol” because if we’re going to jolly ole England, we’re doing it in style.
Of course, I had to stir in some sass. Enter ERRATIC with the “Oksana” open trench coat—chef’s kiss—and ROULY’s “Viva Top” added that perfect pop. The look was slowly building itself, piece by piece, and then boom—RED GIRL’s “Cassidy” trousers pulled it all together. We love a tailored moment.
And listen… no self-respecting Victorian goth queen leaves home without makeup. One peek in the mirror and I knew I had to swipe on IDTTY’s “Bow Down” eyeshadow and dab on SHINY STUFFS’ “Pleasantly Plump” lipstick. With that final touch, I was ready to werk that backdrop like it owed me rent.
This Gothic Victorian vibe is honestly such a fun challenge and full-on inspiration station. Can’t wait to see how you bring it to life—tag me if you post, I need to see the drama!

Hey hey, Artifex here—reporting live from my cozy little snowed-in cave (aka my home)! ❄️ Just wanted to share my latest blog post in the hopes it’ll make you smile, warm up your heart, and maybe even get you dreaming of sunshine and spring days. Okay, okay, it’s a bit of a stretch, but I had to give it a shot, right? 😆
So, let me tell you about SATO’s latest creation: the “ICE CAVE” backdrop pack. It is everything I’m feeling right now—majestic, detailed, and textured to perfection! Seriously, you’ll feel like you’re on an epic adventure, discovering lost artifacts, and hey, the chill isn’t so bad when you’re wrapped in this stunning scenery. Just look at it!
Now, no one’s braving the ice without the right gear, am I right? That’s why I’m rocking my SORUMIN “Puffer Jacket” to stay cozy, and the PARE “Aradia leggings and boots” to tackle the elements in style. Gotta be warm, but who says you can’t look fabulous while doing it? To kick it off, I’ve got my GUAPA “Victoria” skin, DOUX “Apple” hair, and a little pop of glam with REVERIE “Glazed Eyeshadow”. Ready to explore the Ice Cave? Let’s go! With these PKC “Brenda” earrings to light the way, every step is brighter!
✨ The fashion girlies have spoken: The gloom of winter is no excuse for boring outerwear. Whether you go with a bold print, a unique silhouette, an eye-catching color, or some combination of the three, a statement-making coat will pay dividends when you want to stand out and “pop” amid a sea of solid black puffer jackets (and I have several lol)
Whether the temps are dropping at home or you’re gearing up for a winter getaway, a great coat must keep you cozy and stylish in the chill. Find the one that speaks to you—because when you rock it, you own it! As always, all links and LMS will be listed below and I hope to see you out there exploring your own caves- wait..what? Anyway, stay classy and sassy!
